Planning your visit to St. Philip's

We hope you will join us for worship this week! Did you know that free parking is always available for services at St. Philip's? Read the tips below to ensure your vehicle is legally parked as you worship. Click here for our service schedule.

Backpacks, suitcases, briefcases, and other large personal belongings are not allowed in the sanctuary, and photography is not allowed during the service.

Sunday Morning Parking Tips

While the City of Charleston is usually lenient on Sunday mornings with the one-hour time limit in the residential parking areas around St. Philip’s, please note that you will receive a ticket if you park in an illegal spot. Be mindful of yellow lines (especially next to driveways), fire hydrants, yellow-painted curbs, etc., and note that the area in the curve directly in front of the church on the right side of the road is a no-parking zone.

Free parking is available in the lot on the corner of Cumberland and Church Streets and in the parking garage directly across the street for ALL services, including Wednesdays Alive!, weddings, and funerals. In the lot, do not double park or block (even partially) either entrance or exit, and be sure you are parking in a lined space. The gate of the garage may be open as you exit following the service; if it is not, you may speak to an attendant or press the “help” button on the ticket box by the gate. Free parking in the lot and in the garage is not granted for any non-church activities following the services (lunch, shopping, etc.).

Exploring the Cemetery, Graveyard, and Sanctuary

St. Philip's cemetery, located across the street from the church, is open during church office hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friday). The graveyard surrounding the church is currently closed for repairs. While the graveyard gates are open during services, entry beyond certain points is not allowed. For your safety, please obey the signs.

Volunteer docents open the sanctuary to visitors during the week in two-hour shifts, generally 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Fridays. Please call the church office at (843) 722-7734 to check the docent schedule.
